1. Introduction
techcadd (“we”, “our” or “us”) is committed to protecting the privacy of every visitor, enquirer and student of our Hoshiarpur centre. This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect, why we collect it, how we use and safeguard it, and what rights you have in relation to it.
It applies when you use our website at techcaddhoshiarpur.com, or share information with us through our forms, phone lines, WhatsApp or in person at our Hoshiarpur centre. We process personal data in line with India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (“DPDPA”). If you do not agree with this policy, please do not use our website or services.
2. Information We Collect
- Information you provide: when you fill in an enquiry form, book a demo class, register for a course, call or message us, or visit the centre, we may collect your full name, email address, phone number, date of birth, educational qualifications, course preferences, postal address and payment details.
- Information collected automatically: when you visit our website, our servers receive standard technical data such as your IP address, browser type and version, operating system and device type. Analytics data — pages visited, time on page, referring URL and similar usage information — is collected through cookies only if you consent to analytics cookies. See our Cookie Policy for the full list and how to change your choice.
- Information from third parties: we may receive information about you from our hiring partners (placement feedback), from social media platforms if you interact with our profiles, and from analytics providers such as Google Analytics where you have consented to analytics cookies.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use your personal information to:
- respond to your enquiries and arrange counselling sessions or demo classes;
- process course enrolments, manage fee payments and issue receipts;
- administer your course — attendance, assignment submissions, exam scheduling and certificate generation;
- provide placement assistance — preparing your profile, arranging mock interviews and sharing your details with hiring partners, only with your explicit consent;
- send you updates about batch schedules, new courses, events, offers and institute news — you can opt out at any time;
- improve our website, services and user experience through analytics, where you have consented;
- comply with our legal obligations and resolve disputes.
4. Grounds for Processing
Under the DPDPA we process your personal data on the following grounds:
- Consent (Section 6) — for example when you submit an enquiry form, opt in to marketing messages or accept optional cookies. Consent can be withdrawn at any time, as easily as it was given.
- Certain legitimate uses (Section 7) — for example where you have voluntarily provided your data for a specified purpose, such as enrolling on a course, and have not indicated that you do not consent to its use for that purpose.
- Legal compliance — where we are required by law to retain or disclose information, for instance tax and accounting records.
5. Sharing and Disclosure
We do not sell, rent or trade your personal information to any third party. We share your data only in the following circumstances:
- With our staff: counsellors, trainers, placement coordinators and administrative staff access your information solely to deliver the services you have enrolled for.
- With hiring partners: for enrolled students who have opted into placement assistance, we share relevant profile details (resume, skills, project portfolio) with hiring partner companies.
- With service providers: we use trusted providers for hosting, email delivery, payment processing, analytics and spam protection on our forms (such as Google reCAPTCHA). They act on our instructions and may use your data only for the purposes we specify. Some of these providers may process data outside India; any such transfer is made in accordance with the DPDPA.
- Legal requirements: we may disclose your information where required by law, regulation, court order or a government authority, or to protect our rights, property or safety.
6. Data Retention
Enquiry records are retained for up to two years from the date of enquiry to allow for follow-up and service improvement. Student records — including enrolment details, attendance, certificates and placement records — are retained for seven years after the completion of your course, or longer if required for certificate verification, alumni services or legal compliance. Payment records are retained as required by applicable tax and financial regulations.
Once the purpose for which data was collected has been served and no law requires us to keep it, we erase it. You may request earlier deletion, subject to our legal and contractual obligations.
7. Data Security
We take reasonable security safeguards to protect your personal information against unauthorised access, alteration, disclosure, loss or destruction, including encrypted transmission over HTTPS (TLS), secured server infrastructure, and access controls that limit data to the staff who need it.
No method of electronic transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. If a personal data breach occurs, we will inform the affected individuals and the Data Protection Board of India as the DPDPA requires.
8. Your Rights
Under the DPDPA you have the right to:
- Access information — a summary of the personal data we hold about you, how we process it and whom we have shared it with;
- Correction and erasure — have inaccurate or incomplete data corrected, completed or updated, and have data erased when it is no longer needed, subject to our legal retention obligations;
- Withdraw consent — at any time, where processing is based on consent. This does not affect processing already carried out;
- Opt out of marketing — stop promotional messages from us at any time;
- Grievance redressal — have a complaint about our handling of your data resolved by us, and, if you are not satisfied, escalate it to the Data Protection Board of India;
- Nominate — name another person to exercise these rights on your behalf in the event of your death or incapacity.
To exercise any of these rights, contact our Grievance Officer using the details in section 13. We will respond to your request within 30 days.
9. Children's Privacy
Our courses are generally intended for individuals aged 16 and above. Under the DPDPA anyone under 18 is a child, so we process a child's personal data only with the verifiable consent of a parent or lawful guardian, and we do not use it for tracking, behavioural monitoring or targeted advertising. If we learn that we have collected a child's data without that consent, we will delete it promptly.
10. Cookies
We use strictly necessary cookies to run the site and, only with your consent, analytics, functional and marketing cookies. Our Cookie Policy explains each category, how long it lasts and how to change or withdraw your consent at any time.
11. Third-Party Links
Our website may contain links to third-party websites, social media platforms or services. We are not responsible for their privacy practices or content, and encourage you to read the privacy policy of any third-party site you visit.
12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, technology or legal requirements. The updated policy will be posted on this page with a revised “Last updated” date, and where a change affects how we use data you gave us with consent, we will ask for your consent again. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
